Nurse Clinician

Reporting to the Head of Department, you will be responsible for the daily operations of the Day Care Centre, including supervising the nursing teams. The role involves leading and contributing to the development of day care hospice services while working closely with the multi-professional team to ensure a consistent approach to care and intervention. Additionally, responsibilities include orienting, training, and supervising new and junior staff to uphold the provision of safe care.

Job Responsibilities

Patient Care Management
  • Conduct comprehensive palliative care assessments for new Day Hospice Care referrals.
  • Review care plans and risk assessments monthly.
  • Plan, implement, and document evidence-based palliative nursing interventions for clients with complex needs, aligned with care goals. Offer opportunity to discuss Advanced Care Plan/s.
  • Engage clients and families in patient education activities.
  • Evaluate and communicate the effectiveness of interventions to patients, caregivers, or clinical teams.
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in the iHMS system.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to align with clients’ expectations.
  • Perform nursing procedures, including medication administration and wound care, as required.
  • Respect and protect patients’ rights and confidentiality.
  • Facilitate ongoing nursing education for junior nurses and the clinical team to enhance care delivery.
  • Conduct annual staff performance appraisals.
  • Attend continual nursing education to update skills and knowledge on palliative care.
Risk and Quality Management
  • Ensure efficient resource use to meet Day Hospice Care service needs.
  • Collaborate with Centre Manager in reviewing and updating policies for Day Hospice Care services.
  • Audit the quality of care delivery with the Centre Manager.
  • Participate in MOH audits and Day Hospice service accreditation.
  • Monitor Department Key Clinical Performance Indicators.
  • Prepare and submit monthly statistics and activity data to the Medical Director.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of all Day Hospice Care medical equipment.
Resource Management
  • Monitor the use of medical and surgical supplies together with Centre Manager.
  • Optimise inventory management and collaborate with the Operations Department for medical equipment maintenance
Other Duties
  • Participate in institution activities/events when required.
  • Take on any assignments/projects as assigned by Director of Nursing / Medical Director or CEO.

Job Requirements

  • Diploma in Nursing / Bachelor of Science in Nursing with valid practicing license with Singapore Nursing Board.
  • Minimum 3 years in clinical experience with good knowledge in MS office applications and communication skills.

Staff Nurse (Inpatient/Home Care)

Reporting to the Nurse Manager, the Staff Nurse (Inpatient/Home Care) will be required to work in a multi-disciplinary team to provide palliative care to patients with terminal illness and end-stage organ failure. Palliative care will include pain and symptoms management, and providing psychological, emotional and spiritual care support to patients and their family members.

You must also ensure and maintain the standards of professional nursing practice and work effectively as part of a team.

  • Diploma / Degree in Nursing from a recognised institution
  • Minimum 5 years of nursing experience in acute care or home care setting
  • Palliative Care / ICU nursing training or background preferred
  • Able to work 3 rotating shifts (for in-patient wards)

Enrolled Nurse

Reporting to the Nurse Manager, the Enrolled Nurse will be required to work in a multi-disciplinary team to provide palliative care to patients with terminal illness and end-stage organ failure. He / She will assist the Staff Nurse in performing comprehensive palliative care assessment for our patients with terminally illness and end-stage organ failure. Nursing Aide

Reporting to the Nurse Manager, the Nursing Aide will be required to work in a multi-disciplinary team to provide comfort care to patients with terminal illness and end-stage organ failure under the supervision of trained nurses. She / He will deliver a range of patient care duties under the supervision of trained nurses providing basic patient care and providing physical, psychological and spiritual needs.

Job Responsibilities

  • To work as a member of the nursing team under the supervision of trained staff reporting changes in patients’ conditions and needs as they occur.
  • Assist Staff Nurse in admission, transfer and discharge process.
  • Perform assessment, plans and delivers general nursing care to palliative patients.
  • Observe patient’s clinical condition including response to treatments, goals of care and changes in physical and emotional status, and reports findings to Staff Nurse in charge, as appropriate.
  • Provide safe, quality, appropriate care according to doctor’s orders, within scope of duty and competency.
  • Provide care following safety, infection control practices, hazardous material and waste policy and procedures.
  • Document nursing assessment and interventions carried out accurately and timely.
  • Assist Doctor and Staff Nurse in performing procedures.
  • Assist Enrolled Nurse in nursing procedures.
  • Assist with orientation of new Nursing Aide and Healthcare Attendant.

Occupational Therapist

Reporting to the Head, Palliative Rehabilitation Unit, the Occupational Therapist is responsible for providing client care, therapy service and education base on evaluation of client’s condition, goals and activities to palliative care clients across different stages of disease trajectories in Dover Park Hospice. He / She participates in continuing education and research to achieve quality rehabilitative palliative care.

He / She operates trans-disciplinary within the department and collaboratively as part of our multi-disciplinary team (MDT), and may work across various services. This role would require him / her to have initiative, possess good communication and problem solving skills and be sensitive to the needs of his / her clients negotiating challenges approaching the end of life.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct Occupational Therapy assessment, rehabilitation and meaningful therapy engagement for clients and their families across DPH services.
  • Provide OT professional inputs to value add to multi-disciplinary team management, planning and support holistic patient-centred care.
  • Provide training and supervision to Therapy Assistants, volunteers and students in supporting therapy and client care.
  • Participate and assist in research, professional education and induction on Palliative Rehabilitation.

Job Requirements

  • Registered with Singapore Allied Health Professionals Council (AHPC) and possess valid Full Practicing Certificate in Occupational Therapy.
  • At least 2 years of working experience as an OT in Singapore. Geriatrics/Palliative Care experience preferred.
  • Possess good communication in English, good interpersonal and problem-solving skills, as well as a team-oriented personality. Ability to speak other languages (Mandarin, Bahasa Melayu, Tamil, etc.) and other dialects preferred.

Reporting to the CEO, the Compliance and Risk Manager supports Dover Park Hospice in the areas of enterprise risk management, business continuity management and digitisation of records.

Job Responsibilities

1. Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Business Continuity Management (BCM)
  • Ensure that risk management policies, systems and processes remain relevant, effective and useful, including during contingencies in BCP and support Dover Park Hospice’s emergency command structure.
  • Collaborate with risk owners to ensure that any risks identified are recorded in the risk register, with key risk indicators, mitigation and controls, residual risk, record of violations and other notations leading to BCM, with reference to Council’s risk appetite and tolerance.
  • Analyse and interpret key risk data with the respective risk owners to identify potential emerging internal and external risk trends, facilitating necessary follow-ups by the risk owners.
2. Digitisation of Records
  • Responsible for leading and overseeing the planning, execution and completion of project aimed at converting physical records into digital formats.
3. Others
  • Ensure that all organisational policies conform to prescribed templates and that changes to policies are reflected on DPH’s Document Management System.
  • Undertake projects related to the ongoing improvement of the work of the CEO’s Office or ARGC
  • From time to time, to be part of teams for specific areas of work, including organisation events and projects.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in business management, administration, finance.
  • Professional certification in risk management.
  • Minimally 5 years’ relevant work experience in ERM and Risk Governance.

Senior/Executive, Community Engagement (Fundraising)

As a Senior/ Executive in the Community Engagement team, you will be responsible for conceptualising, planning and executing campaigns, events and activities to achieve the fundraising objectives of Dover Park Hospice. You will be part of a team charged with advancing the interests of Dover Park Hospice through active and effective engagement with its diverse stakeholders. The ideal candidate should have relevant experience in fundraising/sales/marketing in a non-profit organisation and passion for the cause of palliative care.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan, manage, execute and evaluate fundraising campaigns, events and activities
  • Assist to research, identify, cultivate, solicit and steward donors/sponsors/partners and prospects

Executive, Finance

The Executive will assist in the monthly closing of books, preparation of audit schedules, and various accounting tasks related to donations, fixed assets, patient accounting, and financial reporting.

Job Responsibilities

Donation Module (DM) & Bank Reconciliation (BR)
  • Maintain proper accounting records for receipts and perform bank reconciliation
  • Key in donations and reconcile the transaction history report against the daily collection
  • Record of donations and recording of receipts into Business Central (BC) accounting system
Fixed Assets (FA)
  • Prepare and conduct Yearly FA listing for Head of Department (HOD) for sighting and verifications purposes
  • Prepare Annual FA Schedule for audit purpose
Year-end Reporting
  • Assist the Financial Year (FY) End closing
